This guide will help you to re-image the Beaglebone board(bb board for short).


The little black board in the following picture is the bb board on the antminer S5:

{Step by Step}


Please follow the steps:


  • Get the 8GB microSD card and the microSD card reader.

  • Insert the microSD card into the card reader.

  • Insert the card reader(with the microSD card) into the USB port of your computer.

  • Open the HDD Raw Copy tool you just installed.
  • Double click the option "Double-click to open file"

  • In the following windows, please select the image file "s5 Jan 7 Image.imgc" you just download.

  • Then, click "Continue"

  • Select the microSD card you just insert to the USB port of your PC, and click "Continue". (Important: plz be careful with the one you selected, because the HDD Raw Copy tool will erase all the data on the disk you select and copy the image file in)

  • Please check the infomation on the following windows, and make sure they are all correct.

  • Then, click "START"
  • Click "Yes" in the following windows.

  • Wait for a while, untill the process is done.

  • All done. please close the software.
  • You will see the name of microSD card in the windows explorer have changed to "BtmBoot".

  • unplug the microSD card from the card reader.
  • Insert the microSD card into the card holder on the bb board on the miner.


  • Power on your miner.
  • Wait for 1~3 minutes, and then scan the IP address of the miner. Login the ip you just scanned out and configure it.
  • Then everything will be ok.
  • Important: Please keep the SD card inserted in the miner and don't plug out it.

  1. These instructions work but to get the current version of the BB to boot from the card you have to hold S2 down when power is applied to the BB. In order to get the BB to boot reliably in the Antminer you will need to either hold the switch down every time you boot it up or else short the switch out by soldering a small wire across it.

  2. Where S2 to hold . I cant find it in BB
